I have been lucky enough to get to travel to various
parts of the world and here in the USA. Here are a few pictures of some of the
places I have been. These pictures will not look very good unless you
have 16 bit color. Most of my traveling these days is going to various conventions,
both gaming and SF/F. I will add interesting pictures from the cons as
I get them.
I have a Travel Annex set up at a different site. It has
pictures and travel tips from my 1999 trip to Australia and some of my road
trips here in North America. Just follow this link and let me know what you think.
India
I got to spend a few weeks in India in 1979. I saw a couple of
the tourist attractions, and several things that are not usually
considered
such.
This
was the entrance to the Taj Mahal.
One of the sights we got to see.
The same view with a telephoto lens.
These were taken in a Jainist temple in Bombay. The second was taken with the camera lens between the bars separating us from the statues.
Rome
On the way to India we spent a day in Rome. I saw a lot of the usual tourist attractions there. Including spending some time at the Vatican and St. Peter's.
A beautiful shot of the dome in St. Peter's Basilica. The picture doesn't do it justice.
The altar inside St. Peter's.
Here are a couple of views of the Roman Coliseum.
An outside view.
And a view of part of the inside.
Dominican Republic
This is from a trip I took to the Dominican Republic in 1980 to help clean up after a hurricane.
I wonder sometimes what happened to the two girls.
USA
Here are some pictures from around the United States.
These are from the 1985 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena,
California.
The opening banner of the parade.
The torch from the Statue of Liberty.
Guess which Big 10 team was
playing that year.
